I’m excited to share my first radio interview! A few months ago, I attended a continuing medical education conference on culinary medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans. While I was there, I had the extraordinary opportunity to be interviewed along with Chef Natasha MacAller and Dr. Geeta Maker-Clark. All of us are involved in teaching food as medicine, and love cooking with spices. Chef MacAller was kind enough to invite me as one of her medical contributors to her wonderful recent cookbook on cooking with spices, Spice Health Heroes, which I highly recommend. We were interviewed by the lovely radio host Poppy Tooker, whose eclectic show, Louisiana Eats, airs on NPR affiliate WWNO 89.9, New Orleans Public Radio. Poppy included our interview along with several others on the theme of “Hospitality for the Mind, Body and Soul.” Take a listen– the other interview segments in this episode are fascinating and a pleasure to listen to. The segment I take part in starts at 19:51.
Thanks for coming by! I’ll back soon with a new recipe. And if you haven’t already, please join my healthy cooking community on Facebook, www.Facebook.com/TheDoctorsSpicebox. It’s a site where I share information on nutrition, recipes, and the Thrive Kitchen classes (and give it a “Like”!). To your health!
